I took this picture in my back yard on a cool early fall evening at sunset. I was photographing the sunset and loved the simplicity of the silhouette of the cosmo flowers against the sky.
Thank you,

I am a sophomore in high school. I took this picture in my advanced art class on September 18, 2009 in Forest County, Pennsylvania. We just started our photography unit, and while we were walking on our nature trail behind our school, I took this picture. My mom and I have enjoyed looking at your magazines, so I decided to send this picture. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Jack W. Spicer recently sent these photos that he took of a Great Horned Owl that was born in 2007 and returned this year to the same cemetery in southeastern Franklin Co. He loves to perch 30ft off the ground and watches the moves of everyone who enters the cemetery. (I didn’t mention the exact location of the cemetery for privacy issues. This cemetery has had recent damage.) The young owl was born in the same cemetery.
While spending time in his hometown of Allentown, Richard Miller discovered this groundhog with its head stuck in a baked bean can, wandering down Linden Street. The animal couldn’t get it off of his head, so Richard and a few other people cornered the confused groundhog and removed the can.
Going to Pick Apples
I am submitting a picture to you of my wife on her way to pick apples this past fall. We live in Turtlepoint, part of Annin Twp in McKean County. I grew up in suburban Maryland and just recently moved to this area, where my wife grew up. I am very much taken in by the beauty of McKean County and love the outdoor activities that we take part in year round. I love your magazine and hope you can use my picture in it. Thank you,
Ben Smith
